Seaside and Hills:
70 km of medium level of difficulty between Romagna and Marche regions. Leaving from Cattolica, you reach Gabicce Monte then across Casteldimezzo and Fiorenzuola di Focara down to Pesaro and back via Montecchio through the hinterland. After 13 km uphill, you reach Tavullia crossroads, proceed to Meleto, then to the San Rocco crossroads and over to Santa Maria del Monte. You go through San Giovanni in Marignano and back to Cattolica. This is a very picturesque route with some steep climbs through stunning landscape.
Riviera landscapes and seascapes:
48 km exploring Cattolica hinterland. This is a difficult route climbing up to Gradara for a glance at its Malatesta Fortress. From here you can admire breathtaking views of the coast. Then the road goes down towards Pesaro. At Fiorenzuola di Focara proceed towards Gabicce Monte. Then still staring with amazement, you head back to Cattolica.
Malatesta Fortresses and Castles:
121 km of medium level of difficulty offering many stopovers: From Cattolica to Gradara towards Monteluro and its castle, then Tavullia, Trebbio and Montegridolfo. Crossing these superb medieval villages, you reach Mondaino and its Malatesta Fortress, then to Tavoleto and Morciano. Proceed towards Taverna and Mercatino Conca at the foot of Mount Titano. From Mount Titano, go down towards the old town of Verucchio, where you can visit the "Rocca del Sasso”, another Malatesta Fortress. Proceed towards Rimini via the hamlets of Santa Cristina and San Paolo. Over to Sant’Ermete and San Salvatore towards Riccione and Coriano, where you can visit the old Castle. The road now goes down towards Misano Cella and then back to Cattolica.
Urbino:
the treasure town of Renaissance and ideal city This route will take you through the history, culture and magic of Urbino, a city known among other things for being the birth place of Raffaello and “home” for Piero della Francesca, Francesco di Giorgio Martini and so many other great Renaissance artists. 91 km of very demanding level of difficulty. From Cattolica, you cycle towards Riccione, then Morciano to reach Montefiore, fief of the former Duchy of Urbino. Proceed to Tavoleto, then to Ca’ Gallo and finally you reach the splendid town of Urbino with its infinite sightseeing opportunities. On the back to Cattolica you go through Montecchio, Osteria Nuova then up to Tavullia. Proceed to San Giovanni in Marignano until you finally head back to Cattolica.
Valleys of Marche region:
78 km of medium level of difficulty, from Cattolica to Fano via Gabicce Mare, Fiorenzuola and Santa Marina Alta. Then proceed through the inland of Fano to reach Santa Maria dell’Arzilla, then Montelabbate and Osteria NUova. Turn left on the provincial road and proceed for 5 km towards Montecchio. Then head back to Cattolica via Tavullia.
